Abstract:St. Pancras Station,in London,UK,was built in the mid-late 19 th century. Its grand span and magnificent Gothic Revival facade made it the pinnacle of engineering technology and architecture art at that time. In the 1960s,the British railway modernization movement put the station in danger of being demolished. Thanks to the insistence of conservators,St. Pancras Station was saved and listed in Grade I Listed Building in 1967. St. Pancras Station was brought out of idle state when the Department for Transport decided to use it as the Eurostar highspeed railway terminal in 1994. In the implementation of the project, there was no definite standard for heritage intervention. The changes of floor slab, wall, train shed, hotel, etc.,damaged the historical integrity of the station, but were accepted by the stakeholders because it satisfied the public interest. As an example of the development and utilization of architectural heritage,St. Pancras Station realized the continuation of function, achieved the social value. The measures and practices,as well as the struggle for change or not,are worthy of attention.
